DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE


Ingredients

4 square unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 egg yolks, unbeaten
2 cups flour
3/4 tsp salt
1-3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp baking soda


Method

Melt chocolate and butter over low heat and let it cool. Beat in sugar. Add yolks and one cup milk; beat to blend. Add flour and salt; blend until flour is dampened. Beat for one minute. Add vanilla essence and half cup milk, beat until smooth. Combine soda with 1/4 cup milk; stir into batter. Pour into greased pan. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes. Frost with fluffy peppermint icing.
