Date Tamarind Chutney

Ingredients

     1 cup tamarind (with out seeds)
     1 cup dates (with out seeds)
     1 tbsp red chili powder
     2 tsp chaat masala powder
     1 tbsp sugar
     1 clove garlic
     1/2 tsp grated ginger
     1 tbsp lemon juice
     1 tsp cumin seeds
     1 tsp pomegranate seeds
     Salt to taste
     1 tsp coriander leaves

Method

Wash the tamarind clean. Heat a sauce pan to boil dates, tamarind, sugar, red chili powder, chaat masala powder, salt, and 1/3 cup water. Cook 5-10 minutes on a very low flame. Cook till dates and tamarind are soft. turn off flame and allow the mixture to cool in a room temperature.

In a blender, Add  garlic clove, grated ginger, pomegranate seeds, cumin seeds, lemon juice, and 1/3 cup water and blend mixture together into a smooth sauce.

Now pour this mixture into dates and tamarind sauce and mix well.

Allow to cool, garnish by coriander leaves. Then chill and serve.
