Ingredients
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 egg
1/8 tsp almond essence
25 almonds
1 cup butter
2 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
Method
Cream the butter and sugar and beat the egg in it. Mix sifted flour, baking powder and coarsely grounded peeled almonds. Knead into smooth dough. Chill until firm. Cut about two dozen slices with the help of the cutter and bake in the oven at 350 degrees F until golden brown in colour. Cool serve at tea.
